Workers Compensation Insurance

Workers Compensation is compulsory insurance in Qatar. It compensates workers and their relatives for death, injury or illness arising out of the injured worker’s employment, where they cannot work at full capacity.

Who needs it

All employers who have workers that receive a wage or commission from your business, including casual employees, temporary employees and contractors.

Covers generally includes:

• A percentage of the injured workers’ wages for the period of time they are unfit to work.
• Compensation for lost earnings for workers who are unable to work at full capacity secondary to injury.
• Payment of medical, hospital, chemist and other treatment costs related to a work injury.
• Costs involved in rehabilitating an injured worker so they can return to work.
